I would say you should be able to get $450 to $550 for it, as long as you don't take it to a dealer, who will discount it heavily. From what I have seen for 1911A1 from this era the value of yours is.

Assuming the internal works are as good as the exterior finish, the gun still has a lot of value to someone who wants a WWII vintage Colt to shoot. tjaltz: Per the serial number this is a 1943 1911A1 that was manufactured by Colt.
So, your Colt's 1911A1 is now a shooter with no collector value.

I cannot tell from your pictures, but I suspect milling was done to the front of the slide to install the target blade as well. This is unfortunate, because to install such sights, the rear dovetail would have to have been milled out. But the worst thing is that someone has installed an adjustable rear target sight and has also replaced the front blade sight. On the down side, I don't believe the grips are original. An arched mainspring housing was added to make the pistol easier to. The pistol was streamlined a little, and features added for the convenience of the user.
